2022 Rule Changes |
0 |
Special |
The 2022 USA Pickleball Rules - While there are several rule changes for 2022, below is a summary of the few rules that involve rec play:
1. Let Serves - there has been NO change in this rule from 2021. Let serves are not replayed.
2. Drop Serve - only change is the word "Provisional" has been removed from rule.
3. Wrong Score Called - If a player thinks a wrong score has been called, a player may stop play to ask for a correction BEFORE the ball is served. If it has been served, the rally is to be played out and the score correction (if any) is made before the next serve occurs.
4. Spin Serves - the server shall use only one hand to release the ball to perform the serve. If the ball is visibly spun by the server during the release, the part(s) of the hand contacting the ball must be bare.

Ladies Only Meet Up Cts 1-6 |

Round Robin |
Ladies Only invited to Play - every Monday and Wednesday – meet at 3:45 pm
- Drawing will start promptly at 3:45pm - numbers will be drawn depending on the amount of arriving club members.
- Courts 1 thru 6 will be available to play. If 28 or less women arrive, all will be able to play. If more than these numbers show up, all will be able to draw a token for a slot to play, but some (equal to the number of players over the designated slots available) will receive a "Sorry" token and will not be able to play in the Round Robin for that day.
- Would you like to improve your pickleball game, get a great workout and develop camaraderie with other women in the club?
Just show up any Monday or Wednesday at the Liberty Center courts at times noted above.
How it works: There will be a count of ladies showing up promptly by 3:45 pm. Each player will draw a number or "sorry" for the evening. Round robin, rotational play will commence so that all players play with or against each other during the session. Women play 6 games of 12 minutes or 11 points, whichever comes first. On some days, some players may have a bye for one of the first 6 games. A 7th game, in which those with byes will play (making it their 6th game of the day), will be played. In order for this to work, once you commit to play, you must play in all 6 of the games, in which you are scheduled to play.
How to play: Show up any Monday or Wednesday. Look for Marti Morris or the assigned event leader at the courts. Marti determines the rotation, manages the drawing and time clock, and provides the rotation. Have fun!

When: Saturday, December 18th, from 1:00-3:30pm
Where: Liberty Center Pickleball Courts
Fee: NONE
Coordinator: Geri Grodzinsky
Everyone is welcome and we promise a good time for all. This will be a Potluck so, everyone is asked to bring a finger food dish, your own drink and a chair.
In addition, we will be collecting for a couple of charities. There is absolutely no obligation to bring anything for the charities to attend.
The first is clothing for school children in some low-income areas. We have been told that some children do not go to school because they don't have anything suitable to wear. If you would like to bring any new or gently used clothing for ages 5-17, will be greatly appreciated.
The second is warm clothes, shoes, pillows, blankets, sheets, back packs, small suitcases, toiletries, for an outdoor homeless shelter downtown. These items don't need to be gently used as long as they will keep them warm. We cook and serve food to some 100 people there every Monday night. They say this is the best meal they get all week. If you are interested in possibly helping on an ongoing basis, please give me a call. Also let me know if you would like a tax deduction receipt.
Please enroll on the calendar, only to organize the play. If you have problems enrolling, please go to Contact Us on our website and send an email to President/Vice President and we will enroll you in the event. If you want to go to the Social and not play, that's perfectly fine too. Just drop in with your dish.
