The last Saturday of every month we will host an "On The Court" discussion on various Pickleball topics that will help your game.  Sessions will be held on Court 3 at 11am and will be a 45 minute talk followed by a 15 minute Q&A session.  These sessions are open to all players.  No need to enroll - just show up.  If you would like, bring a chair!

February's topic (February 26th) is "Pickleball Rules - Understanding Them and How to Use Them to Your Advantage".  

Our speaker will be Randi Levenbaum, USA Pickleball Mountain Region Certified Referee Trainer and Certified Referee.

This is the Club's Annual Holiday Social Event. It was held at the Revere Golf Club and 130 Club members and guests participated.

Can you DINK? You will by the time you finish participating in the Club's 2nd Dink-a-thon. Jacki and Bobby Duncan are organizing this event.

Please enroll and place your $5 registration fee in the Pickleball Club's mailbox. Fee must be paid by March 26th at 5pm to hold your enrollment.

Check in time will be 9:30am with a start time of 10:00am on April 3, 2021.

This is the 5th year of the Team Pickleball "Fun" League. Each team is comprised of 4 men and 4 women in 4 skill levels. All doubles matches. Each player plays 3 - 11 point games with a different partner. Game points are added up for a team winner of each match. The focus is on light, friendly competition for beginning and developing players. One of the Club's most popular events. Sign up as a team member or a substitute player. There is a $6.00 FEE for this event. 

If interested in participating, please contact the League Commissioner. Don’t hesitate as player slots are filling up.

If you cannot attend a majority of team matches, you are encouraged to sign up as a substitute player. Substitutes will be available to teams on a weekly basis. Club members interested in substituting are asked to note this in their email.

As the club approaches 500 members, we have re-structured the 2022 Fun League to be inclusive of all players and skill levels.  There will be three (3) Fun Leagues based on skill level:  A Beginner League, an Intermediate League and an Advanced League.

All Leagues will play from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. for five (5) weeks with a playoff and BBQ on week six (6).  The schedule is below:

Beginner League – Fridays, February 11 - March 11  

Intermediate League – Mondays, February 7 – March 7

Advanced League – Wednesdays, February 9 – March 9

All Leagues Playoff – Monday, March 14 at 10 a.m. with awards and a BBQ to follow

Registration will open Monday, January 3rd and will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 20th.   The registration form is available on the club’s website.  If you previously registered on the club website for the 2022 Fun League, you will need to re-register using the Registration Form.

This is a three session, "7 Shots of Pickleball" training series. Instruction is about 20-30 minutes. Guided play continues after the session. All residents welcome! 

Session 1: Serve & Return of Serve (Shots 1 & 2) - Monday, October 18, 11 am.

Session 2: Drop Shots, Dinks & Volleys (Shots 3,4 & 5) - Tuesday, October 19, 11 am. 

Session 3: Lobs & Overheads (Shots 6 & 7) - Thursday, October 21, 11 am.

After the session, there is "Guided Play" for New & Developing Players.

The sessions will be led by Mike Corbett with the Club's training staff. Show up on the courts on the designated dates. If questions, contact the “League Commissioner” on the “Contact” tab. Feel free to attend 1, 2 or 3 days, whatever works for your schedule.  All are welcome! 

This is a non-club, Nevada Pickleball tournament entered on our website as a courtesy to our members.

Please make sure that you check-in 15 min prior to your start time so that we can get started on time. We want to ensure that the morning brackets are completed so that the Beginners can begin on time. 

Reminder:  Please make sure that you and the other players on your court are hydrating.  If you have a cooling towel, I would suggest you pack that as well.  I will have extras in the event you don't have one or forget yours - let's take care of one another.

Beginner / Fun League Level "Meet Up" Play as the "7 Shots" series and related "Training and Guided Play" has paused. 

Fridays from 4 PM - 5:30 PM is the Round Robin Play for beginners. 

You will need to be present on the courts and ready to sign in by 3:45 p.m. to participate.   

This weekly event is open to both men and women, with skill levels from 0 to 1.5. A maximum of 28 players can play. If more then 28 players show up, chips will be drawn to determine the players for that session.

Courts:  1 thru 6 courts will be used for this Round Robin.

This is a charity event (Sunday, November 13th).  All net proceeds from registration will be donated to the USO in addition to any monies that are collected at the event.  If you would like to donate by check, please make check payable to "USO".

Players will be placed in like-skill groups.  Partners will be a blind draw and you will play all games as a team.  We will have a 50/50 raffle drawing to raise funds for the USO and we will also have a Pickleball Raffle Basket - so bring some cash.  50/50 tickets can also be purchased prior to the event.

Mario Najera, IPTPA Certified Pickleball Instructor will be hosting a 4-week clinic for Intermediate Players. 

The clinic will be 1.5 hours per week on Thursdays October 6 – October 27 4pm – 5:30pm on Courts 7 & 8. 

Cost is $40 for the entire 4-week session.  Class size will be limited to eight (8) participants.

**Pre-Requisite:  This clinic is designed for solid Intermediate Players (3.0-3.5).  You will be expected to be able to feed balls consistently to other participants during clinics to ensure all players benefit from the drills.

Our goal is to offer our club members Pickleball instructions and Drill Sessions for those interested players who would like to elevate their game.

How to play: Show up any Sunday or Wednesday.  Look for Marti Morris or the assigned event leader at the courts. Event leader determines the rotation, manages the drawing and time clock.   Have fun!

June 3, 2023 - Mixed Doubles Cinderella/Handsome Prince Tournament. Sign-up information TBA a month prior to the event.

Starting May 5th the mixed doubles meet ups events will start at 6 pm.  Please be at the courts by 545 pm to ensure a place on one of the meet up courts. 

3rd Annual Dink-A-Thon is a Round Robin event that you will register as an individual.  Each player will accumulate points through several rounds utilizing the Non-Volley Zone (The Kitchen) as the active playing area.  Players will earn points during rounds and the top player will be crowned "The Dink Master" and prizes awarded to the top 4 finishers.  All skill levels are welcome.

Come on out and have some fun dinkin' around.

Good footwork is critical to advancing your pickleball game.  You've got to know when to move forward, when to stop, and when to move side to side.  This month's discussion on Footwork will be led by Mario Najera.  Meet on Court 9 at 11am.  No sign-up, just show up!

The 2022 Pickleball Bash is scheduled for November 19, 2022 from 4:30 PM to 9 PM at the Grand Ballroom at the Anthem Center.  We hope to see you there!

This 4 week clinic will be designed to help the Beginning and developing Intermediate Players.  

Week 1 - Basic Rules, Serve and Returns of Serve

Week 2 - Dinks, 3rd and 5th shot options

Week 3 - Volleys and Lobs

Week 4 - Court Strategy and Overview (SCHED FOR 11.22.22)

You will need to enroll for each week that you plan to attend.  Class Size will be limited to 24 players.

We are planning a gigantic pickleball marathon event to benefit three large charities on October 1st. It will be held on all of the SCA courts.  Participants will get to play with a number of different partners over the 7 hour event from 12 noon to 7 pm. Participants will be asked to collect charity pledges to benefit the charities from a variety of local sponsors.

Please save the date and stay tuned for more detailed on how to sign up and the special events we have planned for that day. 

This is a three session, "Pickleball Refresher" series consisting of:

(1) Pickleball Rules, Etiquette and Playing Information for New Players

(2) Guided Play for New & Developing Players

(3) Coaching for any club member to improve their game, including training in the "7 Shots of Pickleball."

Everyone is welcome and we promise a good time for all.  This will be a Potluck so, everyone is asked to bring a finger food dish, your own drink and a chair.

In addition, we will be collecting for a couple of charities. There is absolutely no obligation to bring anything for the charities to attend.

The first is clothing for school children in some low-income areas.  We have been told that some children do not go to school because they don't have anything suitable to wear.  If you would like to bring any new or gently used clothing for ages 5-17, will be greatly appreciated.

The second is warm clothes, shoes, pillows, blankets, sheets, back packs, small suitcases, toiletries, for an outdoor homeless shelter downtown.  These items don't need to be gently used as long as they will keep them warm.  We cook and serve food to some 100 people there every Monday night.  They say this is the best meal they get all week.  If you are interested in possibly helping on an ongoing basis, please give me a call.  Also let me know if you would like a tax deduction receipt.

Please enroll on the calendar, only to organize the play. If you have problems enrolling, please go to Contact Us on our website and send an email to President/Vice President and we will enroll you in the event. If you want to go to the Social and not play, that's perfectly fine too.  Just drop in with your dish.

An assorted mix of chili is needed – Vegetarian, Mild, and Hot. Chefs must prepare at least 6 to 7 quarts of chili. All chefs enter free and the club will reimburse you $40.00. All chefs must email the event coordinator and let them know what type of chili you will be making.

A RAFFLE WILL BE HELD FOR PRIZES. CONDIMENTS WILL BE SUPPLIED BY YOUR CLUB.

Monday, April 4th - 11:30a - 2p  Registration is open!

Scramble for Ukraine Fundraiser will be a Round Robin for all skill levels.  Each player will receive a number and we will do a fun Round Robin with 12 minute timed games.  All players are requested to dress in Yellow / Blue in support of the Ukrainian citizens.  Entry fee will be $10 and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Chef Jose Andres World Central Kitchen.  This organization provides meals in response to humanitarian crisis. 

This will be a potluck event - please bring a dish to share with your fellow Pickleballers.  There will also be a donation jar available if you would like to contribute. Each paid player will receive a raffle ticket for a chance at some prizes.

You will enroll on the club's website and either drop your registration fee in the club's mailbox (write your full name and "Ukraine" on envelope) or you can pay at the event.

Food is a universal human right......we would love for you to participate to support the relief efforts for the Ukrainian people!

Skill Level Meet Up - Wednesdays at 2 pm, Fridays at 10 am 

These sessions serve two main purposes:

1) This is a Skill Level Meet Up Time for beginning players, "Fun" League Players, Developing Players

Players at similar and earlier skill levels of development can meet and play games for fun 

2) Training for beginning players, follow up from the "7 Shots" classes, questions and answers with trainers 

What you will learn: Rules, Court Features, Scoring, Basic Shots, "Fun" League Play

How you will learn: Personal attention by trainers, develop and play games with players at your skill level

Best features: Meet new friends, get a great workout, fun at your level of play

Look for the trainers on the Liberty Courts at these times

Paddles and balls always available at Liberty Center desk (with activity card). 
 

Skill Meet Up for Experienced Players - Tuesdays at 10 a.m., Thursdays at 2 p.m.

Come on out and practice some Pickleball fundamentals to improve your play and understanding.  These sessions are open to Beginner Players to discuss and work on some fundamentals and then to learn some drills that you can practice to improve your game.  This session will run for 4 weeks meeting on Friday evenings from 7p-8:30p on Courts 1-4.  Maximum Players will be 16, enroll in each week that you would like to attend.  Enroll in 1 or all 4.

Cost:  FREE! 

Week 1 - Serves / Return of Serves and Pickleball Rule Questions (July 15th)

Week 2 - Dinking ( July 22) ** Make-up on Wed., July 27th due to cax on July 22nd.

Week 3 - 3rd shot drops (July 29)

Week 4 - Volleys (August 5th)

We will be sponsoring a tournament thanking our troops by sending them a signed Valentine card.  It will be a gender neutral round robin on February 11th from 11am - 1pm.  Please bring a signed Valentine card (Cards will be available on the day of the tournment if you don't have one)

This class is the 4th of six classes in Mike Corbett's "Learning the 7 Shots of Pickleball" series focusing on dinks and volleys.

Each session is 20-30 minutes of instruction and drills with use of the ball machine. Participants then mix with Club Players in normal hours of play and take their new skills onto the courts. All sessions include shots, positioning, footwork and movement. Attend all sessions or any session of interest. No reservations are required. All are invited. This is a NO FEE event.

All sessions held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays at Liberty Center Courts 1-4.

This is the 6th and final class in the "Learning the 7 Shots of Pickleball" series. This session will review what participants learned in the previous sessions and discuss how to use the shots in building your individual game. 

Each session is 20-30 minutes of instruction and drills with use of the ball machine. Participants then mix with Club Players in normal hours of play and take their new skills onto the courts. All sessions include shots, positioning, footwork and movement. Attend all sessions or any session of interest. No reservations are required. All are invited. This is a NO FEE event.

This is the 3rd season of the Team Pickleball "Fun" League. Each team is comprised of 4 men and 4 women in 4 skill levels. All doubles matches. Each player plays 3 - 11 point games with a different partner. Game points are added up for a team winner of each match. The focus is on light, friendly competition for beginning and developing players. One of the Club's most popular events. Sign up as a team member or a substitute player. There is a $6.00 FEE for this event. 

If interested in participating, please contact the League Commissioner. Don’t hesitate as player slots are filling up.

If you cannot attend a majority of team matches, you are encouraged to sign up as a substitute player. Substitutes will be available to teams on a weekly basis. Club members interested in substituting are asked to note this in their email.

Women's doubles tournament (round robin format with individual scoring)

High & low intermediate and advanced divisions will be available.
